Recognizing products
Various technologies can be used to uniquely recognize and then classify the product. From reading 1D barcode, 2D data matrix code, Optical Character Reading (OCR) to matching shapes using traditional ''shape matching'' techniques or applying neural networks.
Checking products
After a product is classified; the inspection system can check the various characteristics of the product for accuracy such as the exact product dimensions, the legibility of the text on the label and the quality of the finish.
