The challenge is that the right labels are placed on the right tubs, neatly centered, in the right place with the correct legible ''Expiration Date.''
Vision Partners worked with a machine maker to install a customer-specific machine vision inspection system in the production line that checks the top and bottom of the packaging at high speed.
A line-scan camera is used to take an image of the underside of the hooped tub. Using an area-scan camera and LED dome, a sharp, non-reflective image is taken of the top of the cowpox. The following inspections are performed:
- Is the correct label placed at the bottom?
- Is the bar code on the bottom of the tub readable?
- Is the label placed neatly in the center of the bottom of the tub?
- Is the correct label placed at the top?
- Is the label placed neatly in the center of the lid?
- Is the UHD readable?
- Is the UHD printed at the correct position of the lid?
- Is the action seal placed in the correct position on the lid?
- Are any protruding parts of the tub lid visible?
Inspection results are displayed on an operator screen and errors are logged for reporting and following up on any customer inquiries. In addition, the rejected tubs are ejected.
Thanks to this double label inspection, customers are delivered with consistent quality.
