Description case

A major challenge is the return flow of all kinds of different empty crates. The DC (Distribution Center) receives hundreds of roll cages daily filled with a mix of vegetable, beer, milk and soft drink crates.

These various unsorted crates all have to be manually sorted because the manufacturer only accepts pallets with its ''own'' crates.

Vision Partners has developed a crate classification machine which automatically recognizes the type of (blow) crate and indicates to which output conveyor the (blow) crate should be sent. The customer learns the crates once, using multiple cameras to make images of the top and side of the crate. In addition, the customer indicates to which output conveyor the specific crate should be sent.

This Vision Partners product classification allows the client to automatically process returnable crates much more efficiently and sustainably.

"We value the reliability of such a machine. This includes good quality of the delivered product, good service on site and via phone/mail, and thinking along with the customer when problems arise."
