In recent years, Vision Partners has installed several customer-specific machine vision inspection systems in the label packaging lines which ensure that no mixed label shipments go to the customer. Each label bundle is 100% checked to ensure it matches the customer order before a shipping sticker is placed on it.
Label or tag classification
This is a customer-specific, turn-key delivery where Vision Partners developed, installed and released the complete label inspection flow. The inspection system consists of the following components:
- Work preparation where modeling of PDFs from production orders takes place
- Matching the camera images with the modeled PDFs during production
- Interactions with parent databases, emitters and label printers
The first step is work preparation where the Vision Partners system creates image matching models from the various PDFs within a production order. These image matching models are validated for robustness and then stored.
During production, image matching models are loaded from the production order and a high-resolution camera takes reflection-free images of the label bundles. Only if the camera images match models is a customer-specific shipping sticker placed on the bundle. Vision Partners designed, built and installed the complete hardware inspection units in the various packaging lines.
