Vision Partners recently installed several customer-specific machine vision inspection system in the production line which checks labels at high speed for:
- Correct label placed on labeling machine
- Readable bar code in the correct position
- Readable THT (Best Before) at the correct position
And this in close cooperation with the labeling machine supplier and integrated with the overhead production order system.
Using an area-scan camera and machine LED lighting, a detailed, shadow-free image is created of the label. Advanced software checks the bar code and using OCR (Optical Character reading) techniques, the THT is checked for legibility. The production line is stopped if the label does not meet the ever-increasing quality requirements of the various customers.
Inspection results are displayed on an operator screen and faults are logged for reporting and follow-up on any customer inquiries.
Thanks to this label inspection, a consistent quality is delivered to the customer's pastry department.
