Because Vision Partners had previously had the opportunity to create a beautiful vision solution here for controlling the labels on the can line, the experience was good and we were also awarded the contract for the bag line.
Besides the control of the various labels including hologram sticker on the front and back of the bags we were also asked to control the ejector of the bags. Depending on the machine, this ejector was located approximately 10 positions beyond the vision control.
However, there was no documentation available of the current camera set-up and it was also no longer available from the automation company of the entire machine. The Vision Partners engineers started their own engineering and by means of extra code within the new vision system were able to control the ejector at the right moment.
The smart vision box Vicosys from Vision & Control was chosen as the vision solution because it provided a quick and direct setup with 3 Ethernet cameras for monitoring all labels on the front and back of the packaging.
Depending on the packaging, some labels may be present or not, this can be easily set by the operator via switches without further knowledge of the system and/or software settings.
