Description case

Vision Partners collaborated on a project to design accurate control using high-resolution contact image sensors (CIS; Contact Image Sensor from Mitsubishi Electric). The image processing application was developed in MVTEC Halcon software. Vision Partners is an MVTec Certified Integrator.

Contact image sensors CIS

Contact image sensors (CIS) are image sensors used in flatbed scanners that are in almost direct contact with the object being scanned. A high resolution of 600 DPI can be achieved with these sensors. In addition, these sensors can reach a length of 807mm.

Overview: Contact Image Sensors (CIS) - MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC

Plug-and-play integration

A CIS usually consists of a linear array of detectors covered by focusing lenses and flanked by red, green and blue LEDs for illumination. The advantage is a compact design that does not require calibration and can be "plug-and-play" into a new machine. Thus ideal for customers producing multiple machines for the global market.

The sensors used from Mitsubishi Electric are known for delivering fast digital output of clear, vivid high-definition images and are widely used in copiers, printing presses, ATMs and surface inspection machines.

Thanks to these CIS sensors and efficient machine vision code, an advanced technology has been reliably realized.

"Thanks to Vision Partners' customer-focused support, we were able to master this CIS sensor technology and add it to our products."
