Vision Partners provided a solution for this in the form of an industrial IP67 2MP Ethernet camera for monitoring the seal. Because the bags are made of paper and defects in the seal were also visually very obvious, a visual camera was chosen instead of a thermal imaging camera. Cracks, holes, folds and deformations of the paper big bag are detected and lead to a rejection of the bag.
Bar code checking during label checking
An industrial IP67 5MP camera was chosen for checking the rear label. The resolution was chosen so that it can also check the bar code. The label is checked for completeness, intensity and readability. Because we have the entire bag in view, we can also check for deviations such as tears in the bag itself.
Vision Partners provided a stainless steel control cabinet including a touch screen on which the operator can directly see the progress of the control including the recorded images. If there is a rejection by one of the cameras then it immediately sees what.
Also, all recorded images and data are stored on the vision PC for a longer period of time so that in case of any complaints from the market, the quality delivered can be reviewed immediately before transport.
If a bag is rejected, it is stopped immediately where the operator can easily check it. The operator can then let the bag pass if it is sufficiently well sealed or remove it from the belt if it is indeed leaking, allowing the powder to actually leave the bag.
According to satisfied customer: ""With this, Vision Partners has provided an automation that alerts the operator in case of an emergency, allowing them more time for other tasks and not having to personally check all the bags. This has increased the outgoing quality of the bags but also the enjoyment of the employees at this production site because the work has become less intensive. "
