June 2020, about 4 students successfully graduated from Vision Partners. Was certainly a special time with Corona, 95% working from home, occasional Teams meetings, little client interaction, virtual get-togethers, etc. We wish the graduates all the strength and success in their further careers, - inside and outside Vision Partners.
Andreas Hagendoorn graduated on the question of how to accurately and rapidly classify sliced vegetables on a single board computer (Jetson Nano) with open source software (Keras with the Xception convolutional neural network architecture).
Bennie Prins graduated in checking a packaging seal using polarization technology. Using polarization camera technology, you can measure the stress in plastic packaging and thus get a good indication on whether the packaging seal meets the requirements.
Martijn de Schoemaeker conducted research on packaging inspection based on an embedded platform combined with open-source machine vision software. On the JetsonNano, Martijn wrote 5 algorithms that inspect the integrity of packaging.
Freek van Dijk has developed a new software template for a Vision System where it can be chosen to run on both an industrial PC and an embedded system. Using the .NET Core framework, a web application and a windows forms application were demonstrated.
