For the manufacturer here, it is very important that the caps of the handle are produced correctly. In practice, this means that they must be the right size, exactly round, and must not have any cracks and/or dents that could interfere with the feeding process.
Vision Partners implemented a machine vision solution for this by applying a smart camera of the Vision & Control brand. The choice for a smart camera was made because the measurement had to be fast and accurate and always check the same product.

The right setup for inspection
Vision Partners determined the correct setup of the hardware including light source, trigger sensor and frame, which was installed on the machine by the client in consultation, after which the Vision Partners engineers adjusted and delivered the application correctly on site.
Faulty products are hereby blown out of the line in real time, allowing only well-produced products to be captured which are later reintroduced into the line during the can production process without disruption.
