To reduce food waste, it is important not to throw away too much meat during industrial filleting.  The identification and classification of different chicken products such as carcass, fat, cartilage or meat has been investigated with hyperspectral and multispectral imaging in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Infrared#Regions_within_the_infrared\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SWIR <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Infrared#Regions_within_the_infrared\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spectral region<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Infrared#Regions_within_the_infrared\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">d<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Myrthe van Moorst led this research and successfully completed her studies at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avans.nl\/studeren\/opleidingen\/mechatronica\/voltijd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mechatronic<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.avans.nl\/studeren\/opleidingen\/mechatronica\/voltijd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a<\/a> course from AVANS Breda.  Myrthe conducted her graduation with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.specim.fi\/products\/specim-fx17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Specim FX17<\/a> camera and the application developed with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mvtec.com\/products\/halcon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MVTEC Halcon<\/a> machine vision software.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food Technology and a sustainable food chain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For a multi-spectral imaging system, it is important to investigate at what frequency intervals the residuals are best visible. Category intervals fall within Short Wave Infrared (SWIR).
